SEACREST DACHSHUNDS was established in 2000 after Roland and I decided that we wanted to get another Dachshund. Having "Guido" who was a "tweenie" inspired us to get another pet for him to play with and keep us company as well. We contacted Jeanine Sudinski (Lucene Dachshunds) in 2000 and waited well over a year for her girls to have puppies. After several failed attempts, she put me in touch with a woman who had the Lucene bloodlines. We ended up buying "ROSA". Since that time, we have put a lot of time and effort into education and getting to know the the breeders of yesterday and today. Through these experiences, we have been able to learn and grow from our mentors in the breed. In 2003 we bred Rosa to Jeanine Sudinski's stud dog, CH Lucene's Friendly Fireman (whom we have nearly single handedly made an ROMX). From this litter we were able to finish our first Bred By Exhibitor Dachshund, CH Seacrest Carnivale Royale SS "NIKKEI". "NIKKEI" was BOV at the Dachshund Club of California Specialty in May of 2005 under Judge Barbara Rupert. We liked the males so much that we got from that breeding that we decided to repeat the breeding. From the second breeding we got 6 lovely bitches. The first to finish a championship was CH Seacrest Barbra Streisand SS "BABS". "BABS" finished with breakneck speed over Specials (including a DCA Nationals BOB winner). She was BOS to BOB at the Dachshund Club of California Specialty in April 2006 under Judge Mrs. Isabelle Stoffers. We kept two girls for our breeding program from this litter. Roland showed the next one to her Championship from the Bred By Class (she too was BOV over a DCA Nationals BOB winner). CH Seacrest Double Delight SS "ROSEANNA" has been more than we ever imagined. Her accomplishments are as follows: WB/BOW/BOV/BOS to BOB Judge Lynne Allen (Dachshund Club of California), BOV/BOS to BOB Judge Mark Houston-McMillan (Dachshund Club of California), BOV/BOS to BOB Judge Michael Dougherty (Dachshund Club of Santa Ana Valley), BOV/BISS Judge David Cochrane (Sooner Dachshund Club), BOV Judge Dr. Steve Keating (Houston Dachshund Club), BOV/BOS to BOB Judge Sandra Pretari (East Bay Dachshund Club), and BOV/BISS Judge Christine Erickson (San Diego Dachshund Club). In addition to these Specialty wins, she also boasts over 100 BOVs and 20 Group placements (to include a prestigious Hound Group Two at the Western Hound Assoc. of Southern California HOUND CLASSIC under Hound Judge Julie Holm). She has exceeded our expectations!! From that second breeding, long-time breeder-friend Linda O'Hanlon took CH Seacrest Full Sail V Walnut Woods SS. Linda with the help of Handler Marj Brooks, finished "STORMI'S" championship with a Specialty win and several BOVs from the classes. In March of 2008 "BABS" was bred back to her Sire (CH Lucene's Freindly Fireman) and she had 7 puppies on the 31rst of May. You can see the puppies on our PUPPIES PAGE. Amidst all of this, we were able to learn and move forward on our own. We have morphed into Professional Handlers and have helped to finish a number of Champion Dachshunds and other breeds as well. Our passion for Dachshunds has helped bring us into the top five for three years running with "ROSEANNA". Watch for Gunther, Luigi and his siblings on our BRAG PAGE. This is "Gunther"(left) our wire that we acquired from Wire Breeder Donna Maloney (WillowWood). We got "Gunther" at 4 months old and Owner/Handled him to his championship. When his co-breeder insisted that I stick to breeding Smooths, we decided not to breed the Wires. SO...just for fun, we brought him out to let him have fun!! HE WAGGED HIS TAIL!! HE SMILED!! AND HE WAS A "RAY" OF SUNSHINE FOR THE WHOLE CROWD!!
